Nature book
This is a book produced in my senior year at RIT earning my BFA in Graphic Design. The book contains 9 primary sections, each covering one memorable element of nature from my childhood on the San Francisco Peninsula, as well as a few supplementary materials to round out the picture. It is accompanied by a miniature edition, which contains just three of these sections for a pocket-sized version.
Project goals:
experimentation
physicality
nostalgia
fact + anecdote
I used special materials and formats such as fold-out pages, transparencies, and pockets to complement the design and subject matter, break the bounds of a traditional "book," and turn reading the book into a more interactive experience.
